ABSTRACT

Education is a natural and permanent process of life. Education makes a person dynamic, hardworking, and ensures his action in the present and the future. Education is the guarantor of a reformed society and the forerunner of revolutionary change. Indian society was beyond Western education and scientific thought in the British era. When Sir Syed Ahmad Khan began his series of reforms in India, Indian society was in chains of superstition and prejudice, intolerance, traditionalism, caste system, and ignorance. He devoted his entire life to the promotion of education and the evolution of scientific thought. On the Indian horizon, the most collaborative work in educational improvement is attributed to his efforts. He gave his balanced educational ideology, which can be well understood in light of his life philosophy. In the theory of education, he analyzed and theorized the fields of education, curriculum, teaching methods, financial aspects of education, educational planning, women's education, teacher training, and educational discipline. He wanted a new world, a new society based on education and scientific temperament. The stagnation in Muslim society was troubling Sir Syed, and he wanted to end it entirely through modern European education. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan's personality is known as an educator, fearless writer, historian, social reformer, and a dedicated teacher. For the establishment and development of Muslim society and the development of an ideal culture, he advocated his ideology of education in the reform movement. He implemented his ideology based on the promotion of education and critical reasoning. This article aims to identify and analyze the various educational theories of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, which cover different stages of his life.
