Climate of Mohindergarh District and Its Effects on Agriculture

INTRODUCTION: The State of Haryana came into existence on 1st November 1966 from the erstwhile Punjab State. It is situated in the North West of India. In 1948, with the formation of PEPSU Mahendergarh territory from Patiala state, Dadri Territory from Jind and Bawal territory from Nabha state were consitued into Mahendergarh with the headquarters at Narnaul. At that time there were three tehsils namely Narnual Charkhi Dadri and Bawal and Mahendergarh was a sub tehsil in 1949. Mahendergarh sub tehsil was made a tehsil. In 1950 Bawal tehsil was broken up and 97 villages were transferred remaining villages were added to Narnaul and Mahendrgarh & include in Mahendergarh district. The Charkhi Dadri sub division was exculted from Mahendergarh district and included in the newly constitutated district of Bhiwani. In 1978 the district comprised for tehsil Mahendergarh, Rewari, Narnaul and Bawal.
