ABSTRACT The fundamental law of the firewall security policies are to provide the access of network resources to authenticated user and block or deny the access for an unauthenticated user. Firewalls are the barrier between trusted and untrusted networks which permit the only authorised traffic from predefined source to destination. Firewall misconfiguration may lead to unauthorized access and data breach. Firewall misconfiguration is a type of vulnerability like high risk, major, low risk, and medium risk. In this paper explore the AI (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE) approach to detect the misconfiguration of firewalls using AI In today’s world all data is over the internet and firewalls are the security perimeter to protect the data. As per Gartner study 99% of firewall breaches because of firewalls are not correctly configured. Firewall misconfiguration is the primary indicator of security risk for any IT infrastructure.
