Kupipakwa Rasayan – Makaradhawaj: A Review Article

ABSTRACT

The core of Ayurvedic pharmaceutical science is comprised of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana. The herbo-mineral and metallic preparations are covered by Rasa Shastra, along with their varieties, occurrences, physical qualities, and organoleptic traits. Rasa granthas generally refer to four different forms of Rasaushadhis: Kupipakwa Rasayana, Parpati Rasayana, Pottali Rasayana, and Kharaliya Rasayana. Kupipakwa Rasayana is highly challenging to prepare and takes a lot of time. However, because to its mercurial preparations' quicker actions and synergistic effects on the body at relatively low doses, it holds a special place in Rasa Shastra. The use of an instrument known as a Baluka yantra and a kupi (glass bottle) on moderate to high heat to make the preparation is indicated by the kupi. This piece provides in-depth knowledge regarding the definitions, etymology, types, manufacturing procedures; instruments useful in Kupipakva Rasayana are discussed. This study definitely will give an idea about usefulness of Kupi pakwa rasayana.
