Educational Service Delivery by Ashram Schools working for Nomadic and De-notified Tribe Students in Jalna District

ABSTRACT
The scheme of Ashram school is being implemented by the central as well as state governments since first five year plan. These ashram schools are providing education to the students belongs to de-notified tribe and Nomadic tribe communities for their educational development. The scheme made provisions to improve the quality of residential care and educational facilities in these schools. Generally we hear about most of the infrastructural facilities are been provided according to scheme, but the public opinions reflecting through print, electronic as well as social media raising questions about the actual service delivery day by day. The quality and quantity of the facilities and services aren’t seen necessarily matching with the provisions. As per the review of general opinions teacher’s academic integrity, experience and understandings about DT and NT community and their culture are the issues which are regularly raised. Care and protection of the children learning in the schools and effective monitoring system is also an issue. It is the need of the hour to look into the quality aspects which will improve DT and NT students overall education in the State. This paper is an attempt to review the service delivery regarding education provided by the ashram schools in the jalna district of Maharashtra.
