A Psychological Study of Personal Growth and Career Aspiration among Young College Students in Kolkata

ABSTRACT

The present study aims at investigating the study of personal growth and career aspiration of young college students both male and female students of college graduates and also the influence of personal growth and career aspiration of college graduates in Kolkata. Personal growth initiative involves a desire to change and develop oneself as a human being in order to promote the potential for career aspiration for both the men and women in our society. Personal growth can improve the measures of career aspiration in terms of leadership, achievement and educational areas. Fifty samples were selected from various colleges in Kolkata those are appearing for their final year exams. Convenient sampling method was used for collecting data. Personal growth initiative by Robitschek, C. (1998) and Career Aspiration Scale – Revised by Gregor & O'Brien (2015) were used to assess these psychological dimensions for the study. To analyze after the data collection t-test has been used to find out the significant difference among gender in terms of career aspiration along with the subscale and personal growth .A correlational analysis were used to find out the relationship between the subscales of career aspiration and personal growth initiatives the variables taken into consideration in the present study.
