A Study of Projection Welding After using Different Processes on material AISI-1018
Author Name : Ms. Priyanka, Ms. Deepanjali, Mr. Aditya Kaushik
ABSTRACT Projection welding is a variation on resistance welding. Basically, a protrusion is placed on one of the two materials to be welded. This projection is then brought into contact against the second material. The research work was carried out on experimental investigation of Projection Welding on material AISI 1018 by using processes of Derusting and Oiling directly on the rod specimen of this same material. The purpose of this research is to study the efficiency of removing the rust and dust and its influence on the joint strength between steel bar and housing. These dust and rust are removed from the process of Derusting and Oiling respectively then projection welding is to be done on processed specimens. In this investigation the quality characteristic fatigue, yield and Tensile tests are used to evaluate the joint strength comparable to the both of theses processed specimen of mild steel. The experimental studies have also been represents the optimization of parameters of projection welding by varying welding currents, weld and hold times for joining two work pieces (which are Rod and Housing of stabilizer link Assembly, made up from material AISI 1018).
