Author Name : Dr. Vaishnavi Chandrashekhar Ghate

ABSTRACT Even though it is an uncommon ailment, urethral stricture remains a sensible and problematic issue in global civilization. Urine flow obstruction, urine stasis that can result in UTIs, calculi formation, and etc are the main consequences of this discasc. In Ayurveda, this ailment is comparable to Mutramarga Sankocha. Urethral dilatation is recommended by contemporary medical science, which in rare instances may result in hemorrhage, false passage, and fistula formation. Surgical techniques come with their own set of drawbacks and complications. The best Ayurvedic treatment for the disorders of Mutravaha Strotas is Uttarahasti, a para-surgical procedure. Medicated oil was administered once daily into the urethra for three days in order to cure a case of stricture of the membrane urethra. This procedure is known as Uttara Basti. For two months, the therapy was administered once every three days. The patient had a notable improvement in his health. This example demonstrates that Uttara Basti can be used to treat cases of urethral stricture.
