INTRODUCTION

5E Learning Cycle Model is a learning cycle model based on experiential learning developed by Bybee (1997). In this model, instruction happens through five phases starting with alphabet ‘E’. The 5E’s are Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate. This model is a recurring cycle of experiences leading to theconstruction of knowledge.Eachphase has a specific function and contributes to the teacher’s coherent instruction and to the learners’ formulation of a better understanding of scientific and technological knowledge, attitudes and skills. The model frames a sequence and organization of programs, units and lessons. Once internalized, it also can inform the many instantaneous decisions that Science teachers must make in classroom situations.
