ABSTRACT

Background: Osteoarthritis is very common arthritis seen mostly among the elderly population and most people who undergo heavy physical activity. Prevalence of OA Knee increases around 22%-39%mostly in India. The study aims at comparing the effect of interferential therapy and wax bath therapy on pain and disability among the osteoarthritis patients

Methodology: 20 patients undergone complex randomized sampling and divided into two groups and group A and  B Comparative study design with randomized sampling method of 20 patients will be selected for this study and divided into two groupsGroup A:10 both male and female and Group B:10 both male and female for3 weeks.

Procedure: 20 Patients with Osteo Arthritis were randomly divided into two groups.

Group A: Interferential therapy and

Group B: Paraffin WAX therapy.

Results: When comparing the mean values of group A and group B, group A subjects treated with IFT showed more difference than group B. Hence, it is concluded that IFT is more effective than Paraffin WAX therapy in improving Knee disability and reducing pain among Osteo arthritis.

Conclusion: it can be concluded that there is significant difference in improving Knee disability and improve pain in both groups but when comparing the mean value it is found out that the group treated with IFT is more effective than Paraffin WAX therapy for Osteo arthritis.
