A Critical Review of the Challenge Faced by Local Authority, Government in Remodiling of Ancient City in India

ABSTRACT
Urban local government institutions/municipalities are comprised to help and work with execution of government approaches to work on day to day environment and foster their character in metropolitan regions. Providing citizens with access to services and infrastructure is the objective. In many parts of India, people live in miserable quality in urban areas. In order to address these issues and strengthen local government, the Indian government has initiated a series of reforms. The primary goal of this working paper is to identify some significant challenges faced by metropolitan government foundations in India in the wake of recent urban area changes and to illustrate the significant issues of administration at the local/ground level. Information about important aspects of urban local government, including its constitution and governance, duties, composition, management and finance practices, initiatives, and issues at the state and local levels, was gathered from urban cities in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh for this evaluation. This study demonstrates that metropolitan nearby legislatures in India keep on being tormented by various issues that upset their capacity to actually complete their obligations.These issues are intertwined with the efficacy of diverse municipal management and financial practices, the proficiency in decision-making processes, adherence to legal frameworks, and the transparency involved in the strategic planning and implementation of infrastructure projects.It is concluded that new ideas are required to put in policy making and most importantly implementation should be true spirit to bring about significant and visible change in development of the citizens.
