ABSTRACT The prevalence of Santarpanottha Vikaras (diseases resulting from over feeding) is on the rise in contemporary times. Medodushti (disorders of fat metabolism) constitutes a significant etiological role in several of these conditions, including Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD). Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is recognized as a primary cause of illness and mortality globally, affecting both developing and industrialized nations. The retention and deposition of serum lipids lead to reduced blood flow in the coronary arteries, which is the underlying reason. Conventional and natural medications are utilized to reduce serum cholesterol levels to mitigate this threat. This study aims to critically evaluate the Medohara and Lekhaniya (anti-obesity and hypolipidemic) drugs listed in the Ganas (groups of drugs) of classical Ayurvedic texts, which may enhance our comprehension of the prevention and management of dyslipidemia and its associated complications. The administration of medications exhibiting Tikta Rasa (bitter taste), Ushna Veerya (hot potency), Laghu and Ruksha Guna (light and dry qualities), Katu Vipaka, and Vata Kaphahara activities was seen during the analysis.
