“A Descriptive Study To Assess The Level Of Knowledge And Practice Regarding Diarrhoea Among The Mothers Of Under five Children In Selected Community Area At Kondancheri Village”

ABSTRACT
Diarrheal disease is the second leading cause of death among the under five children due to the infection and unhygienic practices.The present study aimed to assess the Knowledge and Practice regarding diarrhoea among the mothers of under-five children in Kondancheri. The objectives were assessing the socio demographic variable, level of knowledge and practice and to Associate the level of knowledge and practice of mother regarding diarrhea with selected demographic variables. The descriptive research design was used with the total number 100 study participants. Probability Convenience sampling technique used. Data collected by administering Semi structured questionnaire. The data oraganized and analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The result shows that 55(55%) had moderate knowledge on diarrhea 63(63%) had moderate practice towards diarrhoea. Association of demographic variables, immunization status had shown statistically significant association with the level of knowledge regarding diarrhea associated with drinking water among samples at p<0.05 level.
