A Novel Approach to Detect Edge in Skin Cancer Texture Analysis

ABSTRACT
In today’s current world, Skin cancer is one of the cause of death amongst humans. Skin cancer is a rare growth of skin cells most often develops on body exposed to the daylight, but can occur anywhere on the body. Skin cancers are curable if identified at initial stages. Early and fast detection of skin cancer can save the human life. With the advanced technology, early detection of skin cancer is possible at early stage. Biopsy is the traditional method of detecting the skin cancer. The traditional method is done by taking the sample skin cells to various laboratory testing. It is painful and time consuming process. We have proposed a method for skin cancer detection system using HSV and YCbCr in image textures for skin. Dermoscopy is an examination of skin, the portion of skin is taken and it goes under various pre-processing technique for noise removal and image enhancement. Thresholding is used to extract the infected part in the image. Then the image is undergone to segmentation using color thresholding method to extract the edge of the infected image part.
