A Pharmaceutical Study on improving the Solubility of Insoluble Drugs

ABSTRACT A significant number of new therapeutic molecules face challenges due to poor water solubility, which limits their bio-availability and therapeutic efficacy. This issue is particularly critical in the development of anti-cancer, antiviral, and anti-infective drugs. Various formulation strategies have been developed to address these challenges, including pH manipulation, salt formation, co-solvent and surfactant addition, and advanced techniques such as complexation, liposomal encapsulation, and nanosuspension. These approaches aim to enhance solubility, stability, and bio-availability, thereby improving the clinical outcomes of poorly soluble drugs.
