“A Prospective Observational Study on the Efficacy of Saroglitazar and to Assess the Medication Adherence in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Patients’’

ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the efficacy of Saroglitazar and to assess the medication adherence in Non-alcoholic fatty liver patients Methods A hospital based prospective observational study was carried out in Gasteroenterology department of tertiary care hospital at Thiruvananthapurm. The efficacy of Saroglitazar was assessed by comparing the baseline liver parameters with the end-line parameters. Medication adherence were assesse dusing ARMS scale in patients with Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease hospital case record. Result The treatment with Saroglitazar has shown a great improvement in lab value of SGOT (50.17%) and SGPT (67.01%) in patients with NAFLD. The Triglycerides were compared to 50.2% and the cholesterol level was improved to 72.35%. The medication adherence score evaluated using the ARM scale was found within a range of 12-20. This shows that the patient was more adherent to the therapy.
