ABSTRACT

Adolescence is the period that starts from puberty till the time of sexual maturation is completed. A quasi experimental study to assess the effectiveness of beta vulgaris juice on haemoglobin level among adolescent girls in selected schools of anand district, gujarat. The study was conducted in Primary school Bechari of Anand district, A sample size was 60  adolesent girls were using non probability purposive sampling technique and assign into two group, Independent variable is providing beetroot juice, dependant variable is measuring hemoglobin level of participants.. The pre test & post test was taken using Hemoque meter on first day & last day of study the post test hemoglobine level measured on the 7 day of interaction .in experimental group giving beet root juice. In order to assess the pre-test and post-test Hemoglobine level among experimental and control group, T-test, and Chi- square test was used. The mean posttest of  hemoglobine level score 7.88 is lower than pre-test score 7.67  in experimental group. The above results clearly indicate that providing beetrootjuice  is effective in  incresing hemoglobin level. Further to know the statistical significance between pre- test and  hemoglobine level T-test and Chi-square test was computed. The T- test value of pretest hemoglobine level and post-test hemoglobine level (t= 12.006, p<0.001) showed that there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test hemoglobine level of experimental group. T-test value indicates significant difference between pre-test and post test hemoglobine level (t=12.006, p<0.001) of experimental group. This indicates that the beet root juice is effective in elevate hemoglobine level. The findings shows that the computed T-test value of experimental and control group is (t=4.022, p<O.OO1) indicates that there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test blood pressure level of experimental and control group. So, the result shows that beetroot juice is effective in elevating hemoglobine level (7.78±0.47). Hence, the H1 is accepted.
