A Questionnaire Based Study to Evaluate and Assess Current Endodontic Practice to Find Out Opinion of Practitioners on Their Level of Practice and Training Needs

ABSTRACT Background/Aims: Much equipment and many materials have been introduced to improve endodontic treatment outcomes and shorten its treatment time. This study aimed to gather information on the materials and methods employed in root canal treatment by dentists in Pune, Maharashtra. Material and Methods: A questionnaire regarding endodontic practice was designed and distributed to dentists in Pune, Maharashtra. Two hundred thirty four dentists were asked to complete this survey. The structured questionnaire comprised 30 questions about the materials and techniques used in endodontic treatments. Data were statistically analyzed using chi-square tests to find out the effect of the years of professional experience on the success rate of endodontic treatment and need for further endodontic hands on courses. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
