ABSTRACT Throughout the process of agricultural development, pesticides have emerged as an essential instrument for crop protection and enhancement. Pesticides function by harming the organisms they target however, not all species respond to pesticides in the same way. Additionally, they also affect non-target species and eventually become a part of the food chain which, in turn can cause harm to other living creatures. Although pesticides are frequently used to control pests and improve crop yield, agricultural crops and the environment may continue to be affected by pesticide residues. Coffee contributes to the economies of numerous developing nations worldwide; it is regarded as one of the most valuable agricultural commodities. The major pest attacking the coffee plantation is Xylotrechus quadripes that is the Coffee White Stem Borer whose primary and most preferred host plant is Coffea arabica. It causes 70% of damage to the plant once it infests which, leads to destruction of the coffee plantation. Hence, there is need to find an alternative solution that, can control the pest in a more efficient manner compared to other pest management methods
