A Review on Mahua (Madhuca longifolia): It’s Chemical Composition and Pharmacological Properties

Madhucalongifoliaor Madhuca Indica, both of which are commonly referred to as "Mahua," are examples of the kinds of trees that tribal people use in their daily lives. It is a member of the Sapotaceae family, a significant economic tree found all over India. The Mahua tree is large to a medium-sized deciduous tree that typically has a broad, rounded crown and a short bole. In tribal and rural areas, mahua flowers are used as a food source as well as a form of exchange. Wild animals also consume it as food. Mahua seeds are valuable economically because they contain a lot of edible oil. Mahua fruit is utilized in cooking. Additionally regarded as a medicinal tree, Madhuca longifolia is effective when applied topically for the treatment of skin conditions, rheumatism, headaches, chronic constipation, piles, and hemorrhoids. It has been reported by several scientists that Madhucalongifolia contains sapogenins, triterpenoids, steroids, saponins, flavonoids, and glycosides. The tribal people, who live in the forest, value this tree highly and care deeply to preserve it. These tribes.
