ABSTRACT : A fire incident is a catastrophe that may result in property damage, fatalities, or long-term disability for the victims involved. The primary duty of firefighters is to deal with fire; however, they often face greater risks when fighting fires, especially in hazardous areas. They also face more proble ms when a fire breaks out, especially in a limited area, and they have to search for obstacles and create debris to exti nguish the fire and save the victims. Technological advances can be used to support firefighting. Therefore, the development and implementation of a dual-mode firefighting robot prototype is presented in this paper. The Arduino UNO microcontroller was used by the robot for operation. The robot’s built-in motors and motor driver allow it to be controlled in its motions and turn on the water pump. Servo motors can be used to direct water ejector pipes in the direction of fire. IR sensors can be used to detect fires. When operating in the automatic mode, a robot detects a fire, locates it, and pours water to extinguish it. When the robot is in manual mode, the user has full control over its movement and pumping activity. Overall, fire extinguishing robots are safer and more reliable at detecting and extinguishing fires without risking human lives
