A Review on Topical Nanocarrier System of Nsaids in the Management of Soft Tissue Injury

Author Name : Anshul Tyagi, Snigdha Bhardwaj*, Dr. Praveen Kumar Gaur, Monika Singh

ABSTRACT

Nanocarriers are the advanced form of carrier which delivers the topical drugs. Their physicochemical characteristics such as rigidity, lipophilicity, size and charge, are crucial to the mechanism of skin permeation. Targeted delivery of drugs , release of drug in sustained form,  labile groups are safe from  degradation, minimal toxicity and drug adhesiveness to the skin are provided by these colloidal particulate systems. NSAIDS that are crucially important drug for the soft tissue injury by blocking the inflammation causing substance.Cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) soft-tissue injury inhibitorsCOX-2 inhibitors have been known to selectively COX-2 enzyme blocker and inflammatory process without inhibiting the effects of prostaglandins. NSAIDS along with the nanocarriers system enhance the drug permeation through skin and make it more bioavailable to the systemic circulation. They may used in mixed analgesia of equal effectiveness to NSAIDs for pain in soft-tissue injury. The review emphasizes on the potential use of NSAIDs for the management of chronic inflammation and soft tissue injuries in patients over the oral administration to avoid the oral adverse effects of the NSAIDs.

Keywords: Nanocarriers, topical delivery, skin, Inflammation, soft tissue injury, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
