A Study of One Nation One Ration Scheme and its Effect on Migrant Workers

ABSTRACT This study discussed the scheme for migrant workers in India. The scheme's name called "One Nation, One Ration Scheme" aims to meet the migrant workers' needs for food security. It is necessary to give migrant employees portable ration cards that they can use to acquire cheap food between states; it streamlines the public distribution system. The present paper studies the various aspects of migrant people in India. In this study, the policy structure, implementation, and effects of the program on the diets and health of migrant workers are examined. The analysis of this study has been done by classifying the male and female migrants. This study is about understanding the number of migrants, their gender distribution, and the issuance of ration cards over time; it examines data from the 2011 Census, the NFSA, and ONORC. The results imply that the program has improved migrant worker food security and decreased their vulnerability
