A Study on Non-Performing Assets (Special focus on SBI)

ABSTRACT

The level of non-performing assets (NPA) best indicates the soundness of the banking sector of a country. Banking system has provided a greater amount of facility for the financial adjustment of economic activity which is an important tool for the development and growth. But there are some difficulties too, in the smooth running of the banking system. One of the biggest difficulties is the non-performing assets of a bank. To grant a loan is not a big challenge but the recovery of that loan is one of the biggest issues. In this article we will study about the non-performing assets of the banks and special focus is given to the SBI bank, to know its NPA. Also we will study about the causes and remedies of NPA.
