A Study on the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic in the Buying Behaviour of Customers in Ayarpadi Silk Palace

ABSTRACT The present study is an attempt to identify the buying behaviour of customers during the COVID -19 pandemic with special references to Ayarpadi Silk Palace, Madurai. The primary data were collected through structured questionnaire from 125 respondents. The majority was female (86.4%) and it is found that the majority of respondents are Bachelor’s Degree Category (52.0%) and the majority of respondents are working public and private sector (28.8%). Data’s collected by questionnaire were processed and analyzed by the Statistical Package for social science (SPSS). Mean & standard deviation and weighted average methods are used to find the depended and independent variables analysis. Chi-square test, One way ANOVA used to investigate the level of association among variables at the significance level of p<0.05. Correlation test was used to find the relationship between dependent and independent variables. The finding of the study indicated that the buying behaviors of consumers are fundamentally changed and consumers are spending more money on medicals, health & hygiene product. From the study, the current covid-19 pandemic affects the brand choice, buying behavior and purchasing decision of customers.
