A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of a Self Instructional Module on Household Remedies of Dysmenorrhoea among Early Adolescent Girls Age between 12-18 Years in a Selected Area at Bangalore

ABSTRACT Quasi-experimental (one group pretest and posttest) was selected for the study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a self instructional module on household remedies of dysmenorrhoea among early adolescent girls age between 12-18 years in a selected area at Bangalore A purposive sampling technique was used to select 60 adult girl for the study. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from the subjects. A study result shown that 61.6% of the subjects showed adequate knowledge after treatment. No subjects were there with adequate knowledge during pre-test. Likewise, no subjects found with inadequate knowledge during post-test. In addition, percentage of people with moderate knowledge also increased from 36.6% to 38.3%. a study was concluded that In the pretest the subjects had an inadequate knowledge where as in the post test all the subjects had gained adequate knowledge. The study findings indicate that SIM was effective enhancing the knowledge of adolescence girls regarding home remedies of Dysmenorrhoea
