An Evaluation of Aayama of Lalat and Mukha with perspective of Angula Pramana
Author Name : Dr. Anita, Dr. Sudhir Kumar
ABSTRACT This study was undertaken to evaluate the mentioned Angula Pramana of different anga-pratayanga in Ayurvedic Shastra by taking Angula Pramana of two parts of body, the mukha and lalat which concluded that the aayama of lalat is approximately one-third of aayama of mukha. In the presented study, three anthropometric points or landmarks (trichion, nasion and gnathion) were used and these are located at the region of face and forehead of human body. These points were used to measure facial lengths- the physiognomic facial length and total (anatomical) facial length. And the height of forehead was calculated by the substraction of total facial length from physiognomic facial length. Lastly, the relative height of forehead was calculated, which is relative to the physiognomic facial length. This study was carried out on three hundred and fifty male individuals which were come under the age group 15-40 years. The normal proportions of various anga-pratayanga of human body indicate the health of a person. To establish the concept of normal proportion, the aayama of lalat was calculated with respect to aayama of mukha. Furthermore, the proportion of other body parts should be calculated to explore the concept of normal proportion of anga-pratayanga.
