ABSTRACT
Gulpha Sandhi is a joint of the lower limb and it may co-relate with Ankle joint. The proper functioning of the gulpha sandhi (ankle joint) is must in the field of sports, dance performance, drama where the movement of Gulpha sandhi is commonly Involved. A slight swelling, pain, or sprain at Gulpha sandhi (ankle joint) makes football players incapable of moving freely. Any injury to Gulpha sandhi (ankle joint) with sufficient threshold may lead to fracture, dislocation, or sprain with swelling, symptoms of pain, spasm, limping, loss of function and rigidity. Modern world has given priority to sports. While playing football, injuries to football players are common. An injury to soft and hard tissues is the problem faced by football players as they must undergo physical strain or stress on the field. In Football players ankle joint injuries is frequent so this Topic is selected to understand structural involvements and changes in this joint with special reference to football players. Acharya sushruta mentioned that gulpha sandhi is included in rujakar marma.Rujakar Marma is formed by Agni and Vayu guna and both Agni and Vayu possess pain-producing qualities. hence the injury is associated with extreme pain
