An Overview of the Properties of Concrete with Different Admixtures

ABSTRACT

The present work reviews the Fresh and Hardened properties of Concrete which are enhanced with the addition of various additives known as admixtures. In this review we will discuss how the various properties of concrete are modified by various additives such as fly ash ,silica fume and Superplasticizer.  In the present Construction Field we cannot think of concrete without the use of these additives, as today we require concrete of high strength , high performance, durable which is not possible without these additives. With the addition of these additives Concrete of higher strength , good durability is achieved.  The properties of these admixtures and their influence on concrete are presented.
