Angiosperms Dye-Yielding Plants of Uttar Pradesh, India

ABSTRACT The current study documented 75 species out of 72 genera during floristic survey of natural dye- yielding plants of Uttar Pradesh. As habit wise including 37 trees, 28 herbs, 08 shrubs and 02 parasites. Out of these all species belong 41 families viz. Acanthaceae, Amaranthaceae, Anacardiaceae, Annonaceae, Apocynaceae, Asparagaceae, Asteraceae, Balsaminaceae, Basellaceae, Bixaceae, Boraginaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Combretaceae, Commelinaceae, Convolvulaceae, Dipterocarpaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Liliaceae, Loranthaceae, Lythraceae, Malvaceae, Meliaceae, Moraceae, Moringaceae, Myrtaceae, Nymphaeaceae, Oleaceae, Oxalidaceae, Papaveraceae, Polygonaceae, Punicaceae, Rhamnaceae, Rubiaceae, Rutaceae, Santalaceae, Sapotaceae, Urticaceae, Verbenaceae, Vitaceae and Zingiberaceae. There are many color components such as red color, yellow, blue, black, brown, orange, and green found. These species having red color in 30 plants, yellow in 15 plants, blue in 12 plants, black in 7 plants, brown in 5 plants, orange in 4 plants and green in 02 plants.
