Anti depressant Activity of Randia Dumetorum (Lamk) Fruit in Mice

ABSTRACT: The antidepressant activity of ethanolic extract of Randia Dumetorum were studied at dose of 100mg/kg , 200mg/kg & 400mg/kg against reference standard imipramine 30mg/kg. and it showed significant antidepressant activity in mice. A dose dependant reduction in immobility time was observed in forced swim test. The results of the present study indicate the potential for use of this extract as an adjuvant in the treatment of depression
