To investigate the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of Tridax procumbens L. leaf extracts

ABSTRACT In this study, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of Tridax procumbens leaves have been studied. Leaf extracts alsoshowed promising inhibitory activities against Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.Crude chloroform extracts of T. procumbensshowed good antimicrobial activities against B. Subtilisand E. coli at the concentration of 0.8 mg/mL. This was comparable to the zone of inhibition shown by standard drug Ampicillin.DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) free radical scavenging activities of the leaf extracts showed highest inhibition potential IC50 at (1.01 mg/ml).
