Many pet owners struggle to consistently feed pets on a schedule that matches the pet's needs. This work presents an automated pet feed dispenser that solves this problem by systematically serving specified amounts of food at preset times. The dispenser consists of an Arduino microcontroller unit regulating a stepper motor-driven rotatable compartmented tray and a servo-controlled lid on a food storage container. As the Arduino executes a timed schedule, the servos open the lid to dispense food while the st epper motors rotate the tray to align the correct compartment. Key innovations lie in the tray design allowing precise food portions, as well as the schedule programmability enabling customization to each pet. This system improves over conventional automated feeders through its compartment capacity (1.5 cup each), rotational accuracy (<5% error), serving precision (+/-0.1 cup) and battery lifetime (6 months). The automated scheduling ensures healthy feeding schedules improving pet wellness. The dispenser provides enhanced feeding flexibility and portion control compared to existing feeders suitable for pets with specialized dietary or medical needs requiring strict nutritional adherence. Implementation costs remain under $120 making adoption feasible for the average consumer. With its innovations and cost-conscious design, this automated feeder provides practical home pet care improvements.
