ABSTRACT The systematic investment plan (SIP) has emerged as a viable alternative investment strategy. This study aims to examine the utilization of mutual funds within a systematic investment plan (SIP). Its objective is to uncover the driving factors behind SIP investments. Employing a comprehensive questionnaire, participants were surveyed to elucidate their demographic profiles and their engagement with mutual fund investments under a systematic investment plan. We analysed the gathered data using descriptive statistics in SPSS. We selected a sample of 190 respondents from Gurugram and Faridabad for the study. We used primary data in the form of questionnaires and secondary data from books, newspapers, and magazines for the study. The study endeavours to assess various relationships, such as the correlation between respondents' age and their awareness levels regarding SIP, their educational qualifications and investment perceptions, their annual income and attitudes, as well as their occupations and preferred investment alternatives. The study concludes that these factors are independent of one another. The findings indicate disparities in the awareness levels of respondents concerning various elements of SIP. This study holds particular relevance for small investors who can leverage a systematic investment plan to access capital markets. For numerous investors seeking higher returns with manageable risk through periodic payments. SIP stands out as one of the premier long-term investment options, especially suitable for novice investors and salaried individuals.
