Ayurvedic Management of Psoriasis – A Case Study

ABSTRACT Psoriasis is a disease which affects the skin and joints, the peculiar feature of psoriasis include erythematous scaly lesions. Psoriasis is a papulo squamous disorder of the skin , characterized by sharply defined erythemato squamous lesions. The scaly lesion of psoriasis is called plaque psoriasis. Psoriasis is a common, immunologically mediated; inflammatory disease characterized by skininflammation, epidermal hyperplasia, and increased risk of a painful and destructive arthritis as well as cardiovascular morbidity and psychosocial challenges. Also most importantly it has got “Relapse and Remission”. Due to chronic nature recurrent nature of psoriasis it is challenging to treat. This case study is regarding ayurved management of psoriasis and importance of shodhan karma in treating skin diseases also how virechan is beneficial.
