Author Name : Dr. Priyanka Dewangan
The most widespread neurological impairment illness in which the insulating coverings of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord (CNS) are destroyed is Multiple sclerosis, which is also the most common inflammatory demyelinating condition. Multiple sclerosis often progresses in relapsing-remitting fashion, resulting in the loss of sensory and motor abilities. Myelin, the protective coating that protects the nerve fibres, is attacked by the immune system in MS, impairing communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Although it is yet unknown what causes MS and how it develops. Numerous studies demonstrate that the complicated etiology of MS is caused by a confluence of genetic predisposition and environmental factors. Ayurveda may be the only remaining hope because there are no treatments available in modern science that can stop the destruction of nerve tissue. Despite the fact that the disease is not mentioned specifically in the literature of Ayurveda. By analysing the clinical picture, Anukta vata vyadhi can be used to describe MS. The major goals of Ayurvedic management and preventative measures are to raise patient’s quality of life and lessen their reliance on others. In this article, an analysis of the condition and its treatment is described.
