Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme: Analysing Its Impact on Healthcare Delivery in Chhattisgarh State

ABSTRACT The Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme, launched in 2018, aims to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to over 500 million people in India. This paper examines the implementation and impact of the scheme in Chhattisgarh, a state with significant healthcare challenges. Using secondary data from the National Health Authority, Chhattisgarh State Health Department, and various academic studies, this research analyses the scheme's effects on healthcare access, financial protection, and health outcomes in the state. The findings indicate substantial improvements in hospital admissions and reduced out-of-pocket expenses, but challenges remain in reaching remote populations. Policy recommendations are provided to enhance the scheme's effectiveness.
