Carebot: A Mental Health Support Chatbot
Author Name : Shivam Singh, Golla Allaiah, Panguluri Anil Kumar, Dr. A Kumaravel
ABSTRACT Mental illnesses are increasingly becoming common worldwide, but professional help remains out of reach due to reasons like stigma, cost, and unavailability. This proposal proposes the adoption of an AI-based chatbot as a pragmatic solution, which would provide immediate emotional support, self-help strategies, and referrals to experts. The chatbot uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) and sentiment analysis to assess user feelings and provide customized interactions. Developed for web and mobile platforms, it ensures accessibility and privacy to users and provides features for crisis intervention for high-risk users. Its novelty comes from its advanced deep learning algorithm, real-time emotional monitoring, and seamless transitioning from digital to professional help. Unlike traditional mental health apps, this chatbot dynamically adapts to user habits, thus delivering an empathetic and context-specific experience. The system greatly enhances access to mental health services, promotes self-care, and is a gateway to professional help, thus making the scalability and efficiency of mental health care better.
