Case Report on Alcoholic Hepatitis in 50 Years Male Patient

ABSTRACT
Alcoholic hepatitis is an inflammatory condition of the liver caused by heavy alcohol consumption over an extended period of time.
In india alcoholic hepatitis is a commonest cause of cirrhosis ( 34%),and almost 20%of all liver disease patients.
The clinical syndrome of alcoholic hepatitis may be asymptomatic. However, in severe forms it is a life threatening condition encompassing jaundice, and ascites, renal failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, increased risk of infection, and hepatic encephalopathy. Mortality rates in severe alcoholic hepatitis can be as high as 58% acutely, rising to 78% at one year in some studies.
The most severe complications of alcoholic hepatitis, in particular the hepatorenal syndrome, are often preventable but it is very difficult to treat.
This case report attempts to shows the clinical features and complications of alcoholic hepatitis.This case reflects that alcoholic hepatitis can present with high levels of triglycerides as well as a cholestatic pattern with direct hyperbilirubinemia and ALP without an obvious obstruction cause.
