ABSTRACT
Present investigation is performed on the extraction of photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b) by using acetone solvent. The study is also concern on the extraction ratio of biomolecules with respect to different concentrations. Chlorophyll a, Chlorophyll b and Carotenoids were extracted from the test samples of mung beans plants treated with Trigonella foenum-graecum (TF) and Ocimum tenuiflorum (OT) extracts of different concentrations;TF 100%, TF 80%, TF 60%, TF 40%, TF 20%, OT 100%, OT 80%, OT 60%, OT 40%, OT 20% and 0% as control using 100% acetone. Results revealed that different trend was observed in extraction rate for chlorophylls. Highest content of chlorophylls (Ch-a) was noted in test sample OT 60% (mung bean plants treated with 60% concentrated Ocimum tenuiflorum extract). Whereas, maximum content of chlorophylls (Ch-b) was present in TF 100% Mung bean plants treated with 100% concentrated Trigonella foenum extract.
