ABSTRACT
We have been hearing about Global warming for a few decades now and various countries have also signed many treaties to reduce their carbon foot prints. But even after decades of trying, the contemporary world is living & breathing global warming. Many who were in denial for years can’t deny any longer as the phenomena is hitting us in between the eyes. Urban flooding, desertification, deforestation, increasing wild fires & droughts, decreasing green cover, strange weather phenomena’s, increasing temperature globally and heat waves, melting polar ice and acute water shortages world wide much more are not just concoctions we are experiencing it on daily bases. With the invent of indutralisation in Europe the last century had seen rampant growth and with the invent of modern medicine, better hygiene, uplifted life style the world population has increased many folds. The contemporary world believes in the concept of “MORE” and indiscriminated and irrational acquisition & utilization of resources this has resulted in unsustainable growth patterns which has resulted in amplification of global warming. Over the years the planets ecological balance has been affected due to this permafrost & polar ice is melting, Earth’s average temperature is increasing. CO2 levels & many other adverse effects. According to WIRED, pre industry CO2 levels were around 280 parts per million (PPM). In 2023 it is close to 420 PPM. When the CO2 was this high in atmosphere the previous time more than 3 million years ago, the sea level was much higher and poles had a tropical climate. Hence it is a wake up to save our home.
