Cloud Computing Load Balancing using Genetics and Index Approach
Author Name : Daksh Ashokumar Tandel, Prof. Yogesh B Patel
ABSTRACT
Cloud computing is a very fast growing trend which offers services like applications, processing capability, and storage based on the concept of the “Pay-As-Per-Use” model to the users. Cloud computing offers numerous advantages over conventional computing. Organizations from every sector are realizing the benefits offered by cloud computing technology. However, there are still a few challenges that it faces such as resource utilization in a cloud data centre and quality of service to the end users due to improper workload balance among its available resources. Heterogeneous cloud resources also impact cloud systems overall performance. The load on the cloud nodes becomes high with the increase in number of users or clients. We propose a method where a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is incorporated with an efficient VM allocation algorithm using index table to improve load balancing. The purpose of this proposed method is to achieve improvement in performance via balancing the load.
Keywords: Load balancing, Genetic Algorithm, VM Allocation.
