ABSTRACT

Cloud computing is essential in modern businesses as it has helped provide scalable services, automated services deployed, and managed payloads. To help achieve these tasks more efficiently, Kubernetes is used. Kubernetes is an open-source platform that helps in container orchestration and is mainly found in computing platforms.

Kubernetes is used because it enables cloud developers to manage containers through virtual machines called nodes. The nodes are grouped to form a cluster with the features like scalability, endpoint, DNS, and storage. This automates the process, eliminating repetitions and the inefficiencies of doing everything manually. This research paper discusses why Kubernetes is advantageous to cloud developers concerning cloud computing. The study findings show Kubernetes has several advantages when used in cloud computing. First is container isolation which helps add extra protection to the container data. Secondly, scalability helps improve security and reduce downtime in case of sudden traffic increases. Kubernetes also helps in monitoring, thereby helping identify security issues in real time. It helps in the automation of container deployment and even management. Lastly, Kubernetes provides role-based access controls, which help increase security by locking out unauthorized personnel. This research paper aims to highlight and detail the security advantages Kubernetes provides in a cloud computing environment and how developers apply the platform to achieve these advantages. The report also proves the listed advantages of the Kubernetes application in modern companies and firms.
