Comparative study of serum creatinine levels among different group of CKD patents by jaffe’s endpoint and jaffe’s kinetic method

ABSTRACT

Serum creatinine is the nitrogenous waste product of the body and it is eliminated by the kidneys. Creatinine is formed by metabolic breakdown of the creatine phosphate. Conversion of muscle creatine to creatinine occurs by the non-enzymatically, irreversible degradation to produce energy in muscle.After the production of creatinine, it released into the bloodstream and finally excreted by the kidney.Estimation of creatinine is done by the various method like end point chemistry and kinetic method, most commonly done by Jaffe’s method. Jaffe endpoint method is oldest method, and this method of creatinine estimation is done by basic instrument (colorimeter).
