ABSTRACT

No society and country can ignore the development of its human resources and education is one of the fundamental constituents of human resources. An appropriately educated person can truly contribute in the development of his family, society and country. Human race is grateful to many distinguished personalities who did a lot of hard work and sacrificed maximum time of their life to make education more and more meaningful to that society could be benefitted to the maximum possible extent. Rabindranath Tagore and John Dewey both are such great personalities. Undoubtedly both visionaries are not unanimous in all of their educational views. Of course they have difference in some of their educational opininions for instance, harmony, fullness and international education were very dear to Tagore. While for Dewey democracy and social consciousness were core issues. However they converge and complement also to each other’s educational ideology. In fact, international education with fraternity feelings for fellow world citizens and its inclusion with Dewey’s concept of education to the formation of a democratic social order may work as a powerful remedy to so many maladies of today’s  global village.
