Comparitive Study of Work Life Balance and Coping Styles in Male and Female Working Professionals

ABSTRACT Work-life balance (WLB) is defined as the capability of people to function in their work and personal matters successfully. Consequentially, stress occurs and individuals resort to a variety of coping techniques. Purpose: Keeping this in mind the present study compares the Work Life Balance and coping styles commonly used by Male and Female working professionals. Method: The sample consisted of 62 employees (31 Males and 31 Females) collected throughconvenience sampling technique. The scales used for the present study wasthe Work - life (W-L) balance scale, by Pareek and Joshi (2010) and Brief Coping Scale by Carver (1997). The T- Test was be computed to find the difference between Male and Female employees in terms of work-life balance and the dominant coping styles used.Results showed no such significant difference between male and female employees.
