Contribution of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar as Educational and Social Reformer in the 19th Century

ABSTRACT

In 19th century, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar is one of the pioneers of the Bengali Renaissance. On the other hand, he was a philanthropist and social worker as well as a scholar and educator. Despite the British Indian government's unwillingness to retaliate against the spread of education, he has worked tirelessly to make education available to the people. He was the first devoted social worker and educated man in subjugated India. He was the first devoted social worker and educated man in subservient India. He realized that education was the only tool to free the country and the nation from the shackles of superstition. Spread the same education for all without any discriminating the children of the society. However, he devoted himself more to educating women because he understood that all the members of the place where women would be educated are more likely to be educated. He thinks that women's education is very important to get rid of the superstitions and superstitions of the society of that time. He opened the door of education to the people of the country from primary education to higher education. He did not neglect Oriental education. In the field of education, he wanted to coordinate Eastern and Western education. He called for adopting western education to get rid of all kinds of problems in the country. As a result, the West has taught that a new era will begin. He is an ideal man to every one of us Indians. Whose personality inspired the next generation.
