Contributions of Periyar in Non-Brahmin movement and its consequences political legacy of Dravidian politics in Tamil Nadu

ABSTRACT Dravidian movement is the significant integral political ideology of Indian political system. The ideology entails the development of non-Brahmin assertiveness in Tamil Nadu. Periyar is the important personality accentuated the Dravidian ideology among the mass. He also sensitized the importance of social justice in Tamil Nadu and replicated across the nation. The study tried to map out the importance of Periyar in evolution of Dravidian ideology and its implications manifested in political development of Tamil Nadu. It is observed Periyar is the prominent personality of the Dravidian legacy and made significant impact on socio-political system of Tamil Nadu.
