ABSTRACT Ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare systemshave been severely challenged,worldwide.The dental treatment practices will also be significantly changed in the post-pandemic era.Newer approaches such as Teledentistry as well as Telemedicine emerge as new ray of hope for health care workers and consequentlyassist patients without adding the risk of cross infection.The present article throws lighton theetiology andspread of covid19,its patho-physiology, clinical as well as oral manifestations of covid-19,Mucormycosis (black fungus), and perspective role of dentistin infection control protocols to protect the health care professionals as well as patients from COVID 19 disease while providing emergency dental care.
