ABSTRACT

Individuals who are mentally healthy may sustain harmonious relationships with others because their emotional and psychological well-being allows them to do so It has an impact on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It also affects how we deal with stress and how we interact with people, as well as how we make decisions. Lifelong mental health is critical at all ages, from infancy to maturity. It's possible that the way you think, feel, and act will be altered if you suffer from mental health issues throughout your life. Mental health disorders may be aggravated as a consequence of biology and life experiences like trauma or abuse, or a family background of disease. Taking care of one's health and wellbeing is critical to one's development. Even though mental health issues account for 13 percent of the global burden of illness, only 31 percent of nations have a dedicated budget for mental health. An additional million individuals commit suicide each year. In the 15 to 35-year-old age group, suicide is among the most common causes of death (WHO 2000) [1].

More than 800 million people in India are affected by mental health issues, of whom roughly 20 million have a diagnosable disorder. Mental health planners have a significant difficulty simply because of the sheer volume of people they must deal with. This article is going to focus on the solution to the given problem. Non-governmental groups and private practitioners must work with the government to deliver excellent mental health care. Despite its shortcomings, India acts as an example for other growing economies. It has the legislative will to carry out critical changes. For the mentally ill, post-treatment services should be a primary concern in the future [2].
